Cyrus A. Golshani, M.D.

Dr. Cyrus Golshani is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained medical retina specialist. He has had excellent training and extensive experience in ophthalmologic and retinal diseases. He specializes in treating retinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal vascular diseases.

Dr. Golshani attended The University of Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science and a minor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and in the top 2% of his graduating class. Dr. Golshani subsequently moved to the DC area where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine.

After medical school, Dr. Golshani completed his ophthalmology residency training at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He subsequently completed a medical retina fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic under the mentorship of several of the leading retina specialists in the field. He applies his training and experience to deliver exceptional care to his patients.

In addition to his role at Virginia Retina Specialists, he currently provides care to our nation's veterans at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Golshani is an active educator and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Georgetown, George Washington, and Howard Universities. He has contributed to many peer-reviewed ophthalmic publications and given many research presentations at national conferences.
 
Dr. Golshani is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.

In his spare time, Dr. Golshani enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also loves to travel and explore the world as much as possible. He is an avid sports fan with a strong interest in basketball, football, and soccer. Dr. Golshani speaks Farsi and some Spanish.
